1. Agreement
QuizTavern provides a website and browser-based tools for creating, hosting, displaying, and playing live trivia, music bingo, and related games. These Terms of Use apply to the website, host tools, player experience, and related services (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. If you use QuizTavern for an organization or venue, you confirm that you have authority to act for it.
2. Accounts and eligibility
Hosts and players who create accounts must provide accurate information and keep their sign-in methods secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and should tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. A player may join some games without an account using a display name and room code.
You must be able to agree to these terms under the law that applies to you. If you are a minor, use the Service with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian where required. Hosts are responsible for deciding whether their events are suitable for their audience and venue.
3. Hosting and playing
Hosts control the questions, event details, timing, moderation, and prizes for their own games. QuizTavern supplies tools, but the host is responsible for running the event, giving accurate prize rules, and meeting any venue, contest, accessibility, or other legal requirements that apply to it. Players should follow the host’s reasonable game rules and treat other participants respectfully.
Live scores, rankings, buzzer results, and answer judging can be affected by devices, connectivity, and host decisions. The host’s event rules govern any prize or competition outcome unless applicable law requires otherwise. QuizTavern does not provide or guarantee host-offered prizes.
4. Content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of questions, images, names, logos, and other material you submit, subject to rights held by others. You give QuizTavern a non-exclusive licence to store, process, display, and transmit that material as needed to operate the Service and the events you choose to make public. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit and use it.
Hosts must secure any required rights to music, recordings, images, trademarks, or other third-party material used in a game or at a venue. QuizTavern does not grant music performance or recording licences. QuizTavern’s software, branding, and original site content remain ours or our licensors’ property; these terms give you permission to use the Service, not ownership of it.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to harass others, post unlawful or infringing material, impersonate someone, invade privacy, disrupt a game, interfere with security, scrape or overload the Service, or misuse another person’s account or data. Do not upload malware or attempt unauthorized access. We may remove content or restrict use where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or legal rights.
6. Plans and payments
Features, trial periods, and prices shown on the website or during checkout may change. If you choose a paid plan, the price, billing interval, renewal terms, and any applicable taxes shown before purchase form part of your order. Cancellation and refund rights are governed by the terms presented at purchase and applicable consumer protection law. Contact support@quiz-tavern.com with billing questions.
7. Service availability
We work to keep QuizTavern reliable, but live features depend on internet connections, devices, and outside infrastructure. We may maintain, change, or discontinue features. Where practical, we will give notice of material changes that affect paid use. The Service is provided with the protections and remedies required by applicable law; otherwise, we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or close an account for a material breach of these terms, unlawful activity, security risk, or non-payment, with notice where practical. Ending use does not erase obligations already incurred. You can request account deletion through the contact listed in our Privacy Policy, subject to lawful retention needs.
9. Responsibility and liability
To the extent permitted by law, each party is responsible for losses caused by its own conduct. QuizTavern is not responsible for host-run events, user-submitted content, third-party prizes, or disruptions outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights, remedies, or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer protection rights.
10. Canadian law and disputes
These terms are governed by applicable Canadian law. Any dispute may be brought before a court with jurisdiction under that law. Mandatory rights under the laws of your province or territory remain in effect. Before starting a formal claim, you can contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms when the Service or legal requirements change. We will post the new version with its effective date and give additional notice where required. Material changes apply prospectively. Questions or notices can be sent to support@quiz-tavern.com.
